Have you ever heard "A Toot and a Snore in '74," the bootleg of the only post-Beatles recording of John and Paul playing together? God it's awful. They were probably stoned (hence the title).
The fantasy--which will never happen, but still could--is for Paul and George Martin to break into the vault where John's solo masters are stored, and re-produce them, adding Beatlesque harmonies and more tasteful instrumentation. That would be some good music.

Associated Press July16th 2010: Two men clad in black clokes and black goggles were arrested Thursday morning exiting the home of former Beatle John Lennon with what they thought were rare studio masters of Lennon's solo recordings. To the thieves, it was only heartbreak as police were tipped off by an anonymous email which was sent in apparent code as the senders name was "HMMinNY@Google.com".
ReplyDeleteAt the scene crowds gathered as the two men were unmasked and the packages were opened. Laughter burst out when the police broke open the stolen boxes only to find several pairs of discarded shoes of Miss Ono's, A cassette copy of "Yoko Ono's Greatest Hits" and a pair of false teeth with no owner listed. The identity of the two men are being withheld until bail is set.
